Frequently asked questions
Everything you might want to know before your first session. If your question is not here, just ask.
What is hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation and focused attention to reach a heightened state of awareness, sometimes called a trance. In this calm, focused state your subconscious mind becomes more open to positive suggestion and helpful change.
How does hypnotherapy work?
By gently relaxing the conscious mind, hypnotherapy allows access to the subconscious — where many habits, feelings and automatic responses live. Working there, we can soften unhelpful patterns and strengthen positive ones.
Why choose hypnotherapy?
It is a safe, natural and non-invasive way to address a wide range of concerns — from anxiety and confidence to habits and sleep — by working with the root of behaviour rather than just the symptoms.
How will I feel during a session?
Deeply relaxed, calm and in control. Most people remain fully aware of their surroundings and describe the experience as warm, safe and pleasant — like floating, or that drowsy moment before sleep.
How much does it cost?
Cost varies depending on your needs. Your free consultation helps determine the course required, and we can discuss payment plans at that time.
How many sessions will I need?
This depends on your individual situation, which we discuss during your free first consultation. Some concerns respond quickly; others benefit from a little repetition.
Is it available online?
Yes. Sessions are available both in person and online via Zoom, so you can take part from wherever you feel most comfortable.
How long do sessions take?
The free consultation is 20–30 minutes. The first therapy session is approximately 1.5 hours, with follow-up sessions usually around an hour.
